holds. He said it. TechCrunch, Fortune, Semafor, and The Next Web all confirmed the quotes from his August 16 post. He also endorsed a FINRA-like central AI regulator.

The twist

in February 2026, six months before this admission, Amodei told the Dwarkesh Podcast: 'For a country of geniuses in a datacenter, I think 1-3 years.' In his 2024 essay 'Machines of Loving Grace,' he wrote that AI could accelerate biological progress by 10x, delivering 50-100 years of discovery in 5-10. Two years in, diseases cured: zero. Diagnostic aids exist. Cures do not.

  4. Context fortune.com: The thing that will work is actually curing cancer
  5. Context singjupost.com: we can do this when we have the country of geniuses in a data center. And so my picture for that is, if you made me guess, it's like one to two years, maybe one to three years
