What the checks establish

A reachable URL establishes availability at the time of a check. A matched quotation establishes that text was found. Neither establishes that the source is right, independent, or fairly interpreted.

The current checked-story collection uses a separate gate. Source-fetch failures can remain warnings, so a passing gate does not mean every source was re-verified. Published corrections remain beside the affected story in the checked-story archive.

Public evidence metadata includes the recorded verdicts and source links. Review dates are null where no review timestamp is recorded.

Methodology: how verdicts work. Follow each source before relying on a ruling, and retain its limitations when citing it.
